Join in the Rally of support for Horses and Burros saved from Roundups and Slaughter

Dear Friends,
We're reaching out for your compassionate help to RALLY support for horses and burros served through our Lifetime Equine Refuge program. Will you share this message with five of your friends?

Donations will help pay for the most essential lifesaving services including veterinary medical care, nutritional hay and feed and Farrier care for horses and burros saved from roundups and slaughter. With kind support from people like you we've saved hundreds of innocent victims from the brink of death and we've successfully placed over 125 rescued equines into new homes and private sanctuary settings just over the last year and a half.

We currently care and provide for over seventy five wild and domestic horses and burros through our rescue, recovery and sanctuary program. They come to us traumatized, shattered, desperate and betrayed. With us they find love, professional care, safety, compassion, dignity, trust, hope and a new beginning.

Your kind support in sharing about the crucial funding needs of these innocent rescued equines would undoubtedly make a big difference and would enhance our ability to continue helping others in need. If you haven't recently donated, but would like to contribute, please know that your gift will truly help brighten the day of the most, neediest animals. Every dollar counts, no matter the amount.

We rely 100% on tax deductible donations to provide a caring, loving refuge for orphaned, distressed, injured, and displaced horses and burros to receive quality care and a second chance at life. And for those animals who are not adoptable, we are committed to assuring their peace and health through long term placement in our loving sanctuary program.

Saving America’s Horses Warns the Public Not to Let Down Guard for America’s Horses

America’s Wild Horses and Burros are NOT Out of Danger

Sept. 16, 2016, Los Angeles, CA - Fate of 44,000 Wild Horses remains under Threat of EXTERMINATION pending BLM decision TBA spring 2017. Meanwhile status quo BLM practices leave horses with no real protection from killing or slaughter.

The BLM (Bureau of Land Management) neither approves nor rejects recommendation by its Board to exterminate 44,000 wild American horses.  A number of recent media reports have essentially renounced valid concerns which threaten the lives of over 45,000 wild horses and burros in America.  In truth, the BLM has yet to decide the fate these innocent animals.  Reportedly the BLM has no intention of issuing a formal response on the issue until sometime in 2017.

Saving America’s Horses, an international initiative under the Wild For Life Foundation points to the BLM’s long history of creative damage control and propaganda campaigns when confronted with public exposure and uproar over its highly camouflaged wild horse and burro program.   “The BLM claims to protect the wild horses and burros under a so-called “without limitation” policy which they fail to enforce,” said Katia Louise, president of the Wild For Life Foundation.  Amidst the media flurry, it’s been reported that Tom Gorey, a spokesman for the bureau said that the agency will “continue its current policy of caring for unadopted or unsold wild horses and burros” and will “not sell or send any animals to slaughter.”

“To sell the animals ‘without limitation’ effectively strips their protection from abuse and slaughter,” adds Katia Louise.  “In other words, countless wild horses and burros will continue to die under BLM status quo practices.”

Despite mainstream news reports, America’s horses are not out of danger, said Wild For Life Foundation (WFLF) representatives.   Saving America’s Horses is therefore stepping up its educational campaign in effort to increase exposure of the truth to the public. In a statement from WFLF’s Saving America’s Horses Initiative, “We will be strengthening our fight to stop the killing, end the cruelty and save America’s horse and burro population from suffering gruesome death from roundups and slaughter.”  On Sept. 14, 2016, The Wild For Life Foundation, announced its release of a new series of PSA's based on evidence presented in the powerful documentary film, Saving America's Horses: A Nation Betrayed (2012)

Saving America’s Horses: A Nation Betrayed is a “searing indictment of governmental agencies involved in the slaughter of horses. The impassioned pic amasses impressive documentation, visual and testimonial, of systemic mistreatment of the animals, illegal and fraudulent practices regulating their sale, and the very real possibility of their extinction in the wild.” - Variety

With over 44,000 innocent wild American Mustangs lives at stake, and under what is now recognized as a valid veiled threat of EXTERMINATION by the BLM, it's critical for these innocent beings that the true facts get out to the masses. WFLF is asking horse and animal enthusiasts to help stop the dangerous and violent expulsion of America’s Mustangs from our lands by taking action. Supporters are encouraged to sign the Saving America’s Horses’ petition and join the Saving America’s Horses Initiative.  Through these efforts we will expose the systemic corruption that has left virtually worthless the Wild Free Roaming Horses and Burros Act, which is supposed to protect horses and burros. We can stop the killing and reverse the degradation to open rangelands caused by BLM mismanagement, but we must remain vigilant.  Horse and burro supporters can stay informed and get the facts they need through the WFLF Saving America’s Horses educational PSA series recently launched through the Saving America’s Horses Facebook page.

ACTION ALERT! 44,000 Wild Horses' Lives at Stake

On Sept 9, 2016 the BLM (Bureau of Land Management), Advisory Board voted to recommend EXTERMINATING over 44,000 innocent wild American Mustangs who have been brutally rounded up and are currently held wrongly under encampment.  We must STAND TOGETHER & TAKE ACTION to STOP this Genocidal Atrocity - Before it's too late.

Wild For Life Foundation Awarded Grant from ASPCA to for Training to Help Horses in Need

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

$5000 Grant Awarded to Improve Adoption Rates through Training

Sept. 12. 2016, Riverside, CA —The Wild For Life Foundation (WFLF) today announced that it has received a $5,000 grant from the ASPCA®.  The grant money will be used as funding to hire trainer(s) for rescue horses to evaluate previous training, correct behavioral problems, basic manners, to providing ground training and training under saddle.

For over eight years WFLF has been saving animals from abuse and neglect and often the animals

return to full health. “Many of our horses come to us from law enforcement cases and are rescued from other life threatening situations.  They are neglected, abused, and stray. We don’t know how much, if any, training they’ve received before coming to us.  Some are candidates for socialization and training (particularly those born after their mothers come into the rescue), and this training fund will benefit them,” said Katia Louise, Executive Director of WFLF.  “This grant allows us to find out what our horses know and provide the training that will help them find new homes.”

“The ASPCA is grateful to rescue groups like the Wild For Life Foundation who step in to care for and rehabilitate horses who have been abused or neglected,” said Jacque Schultz, senior director of the ASPCA Equine Fund. “We are pleased to award them this grant to assist their efforts to protect horses in need, and we applaud their commitment to equine training.” The ASPCA Equine Fund grants program awards equine organizations which strive to achieve best practices, including excellent animal care, and whose focus and expertise is concentrated on reducing the suffering of equines who have lost their homes or been cruelly treated. Together We can Make a Difference

When times are difficult for people, they can be insurmountable for horses. That's where we come in. Like you, we are passionate about helping the animals, that's why we do what we do.

This is Mariachi - he was so weak and emaciated when we rescued him that we had to lift him into the trailer to bring him to safety. His full recovery and the countless other lives that we continually save through our lifesaving missions, are costly, especially for a grassroots volunteer charity rescue like ours. However, these lifesaving missions are essential if we want to help our fellow animals. The results from your kind hay donations and our tireless volunteer work in the trenches, have proven time and time again to save and protect these animal's lives.  We can't do it without you. We need your continued support to carry out these urgent missions!
Mariachi was saved from starvation and slaughter.  He is one of many animals you will be helping with your compassionate gift. These animals are counting on us.  We are their voice and they need to be heard.

Wild For Life Foundation is reaching out to all its volunteers and supporters to help raise funds for the purchase of hay. It takes over $6,500 per month for the purchase of hay to feed the rescue horses and burros at our rescue shelter and sanctuary. Please consider making a tax deductible donation so that our much needed work on behalf of the animals can continue.

About Radar:
Radar is a little baby boy burro whose mommy was living wild in the rural foothills of Southern California together with her family of wild burros. Urban development is now infringing on their homeland and their way of life has changed. Welcoming our newest arrival to Lifetine Equine Refuge at WFLF's Wild Burro Rescue and Sanctuary

Wild For Life Foundation's Lifetime Equine Refuge is pleased to announce its newest arrival! A new born baby wild burro saved! His mom was pregnant when she was captured from the wild. Wild burros are being rounded up and removed by from their native homelands in Highgrove, CA by County Officials to prevent them from being hit by cars and trains. The burros have been drawn to the busy streets where well-meaning residents and drivers have flocked to feed and water them. It’s been reported that number of burros in the area have already been struck and killed by cars.

"We extend our most sincere gratitude to our devoted supporters for helping us to save these precious lives," said Katia Louise of the Wild For Life Foundation. Wild burros are losing their once protected native homes on America’s public lands. As the remaining number of Wild Horses and Burros in the U.S. nears extinction, education and appreciation through the protection and observation of Wild Burros Horses in natural sanctuary environments becomes tantamount to their survival as a species. "America’s Wild Equids cannot be reproduced once they are gone."

The WFLF Wild Burro Rescue and Sanctuary Mission is dedicated to saving and preserving America's wild burros and assuring their protection from roundups and slaughter through rescue, sanctuary and education. Sanctuary placement for these government captured/ unreleasable and unadoptable wild donkeys is helping to preserve their vital social and family structure which is so important to their preservation as a species. Charity missions like the ‘WFLF Wild Burro Rescue and Recovery Mission’ help raise awareness and essential funds to aid at-risk wild burros that need urgent care and safe harbor after losing their freedom, their homes and their families during roundups.

Highgrove Wild Burros Find Sanctuary after Losing their Range-land Homes

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Riverside County, CA – March 22, 2016 – The Wild for Life Foundation (WFLF) today announced the
arrival of nine herd members of the Highgrove Donkeys, including six pregnant Jennies and three babies which had recently been rounded up from their native range-land homes.

The Wild For Life Foundation and Donkey Land have been working together on a rescue/ sanctuary partnership over the last few months to enable the placement of captured/ unreleasable and unadoptable wild donkeys into WFLF’s Wild Burro Preservation and Sanctuary Program. "We are proud to work together with Donkey Land in this rescue/ sanctuary partnership,” says Katia Louise, founder and president of the Wild For Life Foundation (WFLF).  “We look forward to a long lasting partnership for the benefit of these and other at risk

wild burros."Sanctuary placement through WFLF will help preserve their vital social and family structure which is so important to their preservation as a species. Charity missions like the ‘WFLF Wild Burro Rescue and Recovery Mission’ help raise awareness and essential funds to aid at-risk wild burros that need urgent care and safe harbor  after losing their freedom, their homes and their families during roundups.

"Donkey Land is honored to take part in WFLF’s Wild Burro Preservation and Sanctuary Program on behalf of these nine precious burros we rescued,” says Wendy Petrunio, a director at Donkey Land.  “These nine special burros will be able to reunite with other Highgrove family members that WFLF has rescued after being rounded up. There is nothing better than helping create a happy ending.”

Just last year WFLF issued an Emergency Rescue Resolution to help save and preserve Southern California’s at-risk Wild Burros. More than two dozen wild burros have recently been rounded up by the local County animal shelter.  It’s anticipated that more wild burros from the same area will soon be captured.

Rescue team members of WFLF's Wild Burro Rescue and

Recovery Mission are working around the clock behind the scenes to provide lifesaving services and safe harbor for as many wild burros as possible.  "We are dealing with a crisis situation," says Katia Louise, WFLF Executive Director. "It's a tragedy. It’s dangerous for everyone and burros are dying."  Riverside County Animal Services (RCDAS) has defined the situation as an urgent matter.

“We are dedicated to saving, protecting and preserving wild and domestic equines through rescue, sanctuary and education,” said Katia Louise.  “Central to WFLF’s Wild Equine Preservation Mission is our commitment to help see that wild equines are able to maintain their natural social structures. Fundamental to the core of WFLF’s equine rescue and sanctuary program is our commitment to assure a forever safe haven habitat for each and every animal that comes through our doors.”

America’s Wild Equids cannot be reproduced once they are gone.

WFLF’s Wild Horse and Burro Conservation Mission strives to

preserve and protect the lives of rare and historic wild equines as part of the natural ecosystem and educate people about the need for the preservation of this threatened native species.

Support for WFLF’s Wild Burro Program can be made in a variety of ways. One can become a donor, sponsor a wild herd, make a contribution toward WFLF’s sanctuary land acquisition project, volunteer, and "take action" through social media by raising awareness.
Donations received by the Wild For Life Foundation are tax deductible and will help support this vital Mission. Click here to make a donation.
